Baxter is a new family addition. He's a 6 week old Chihuahua. Patrick plays with him at the lake.
Visit to Beaumont

We stayed with Carol and Dick Weatherall and had a great time.

We got to see Mike and Marilyn Higgins gorgeous new home.

Jan Lamb (in the middle) treated us to a steak dinner at the Country Club. Mary and Bill Matthews joined us.

Unfortunately, our good friend Jim Towers had passed away. We attended his funeral and had a nice visit with the family afterwards. John poses with Peg. She is not only one of our best friends, but she and John made a real pair when John was President of the local United Way and Peg was the Executive Director.
Trip to Waco
We went to Waco in March for my friend's funeral. Click here for Sandra Mayfield Coleman.

Me (Nancy Teeling Gray), Pat Landrum Lane, Jane Thomson Thomas, Suzann Simmons Kendrick are at the Olive Garden. The Waco High School Class of 1951 had their quarterly luncheon on March 18th.

Pat, Billie Ruth Thomas Thompson, and Suzann visit at the luncheon.

Bill Merritt looks the same as he did in 1951 - except that his burr haircut is a little shorter!

Emily Urban Lee invites EVERYONE to her wedding as she and Eunice Gummelt Kuehl smile for me. (Eunice looks just like she did in high school and NOT as this picture displays. The camera was too close. Sorry, Eunice!)
Brother Phil and Gloria Visit

Tom and Nancy Jean visit us for a "refrigerator" pose.

We eat at Blackbeards. Great shrimp...crowded table! Here are Patrick, Elizabeth, John and Gloria (with her cute cat outfit on).

Nancy, Phil (Bup) and Jay are on this side of the table.

On Saturday night, we eat pizza at Elizabeth and Jay's house. Joe and Patrick, Stevie and Josh have friends over.
Mike and Marilyn Higgins

Mike and Marilyn Higgins stop by for an "overnighter" on their way home from Mexico. From the looks of their car, they are aiding NAFTA. What happened was that Marilyn and their two daughters, Heidi and Lysle, went to San Miguel Allende for a week and bought so much stuff that it couldn't be shipped home. That was an excuse for Mike and Marilyn to take a 1,000 mile (one way) trip from Beaumont to San Miguel to pick up their purchases. We didn't get to see many items because the car was packed full!
Bob and Pat Mitchell

Bob and Pat from Tucson visited us for a couple of nights on their 5 week trip to Florida and elsewhere.

We eat dinner at Docs and get to see this beautiful sunset.

This is the Intercoastal Canal and we saw some gorgeous ships go past. Large fish, bass and redfish, were swimming in the water by the pier. Some people were in for good fishing.
July 4th

We take a sunset cruise at Corpus Christi lake. John says "Happy 4th of July"

Edie and Austin ride in the front of the boat.

Gloria and Phil ride in the back.

The Pilot and the Co-pilot - Nancy and John

And we see a gorgeous sunset...
Shirley's Retirement

We attend a wonderful Retirement Party at Bryan's 797 Restaurant in Beaumont. Everything is perfect: delicious food, drinks, favors, decorations, friends and family.. What a treat to see her family all grown up. We're now looking forward to her getting to visit us in Corpus Christi.

She welcomes everyone in her gracious way. She deserved a great party with the hundreds she has planned for retiring Mobil Oil people. (Shirley was John's secretary, and best buddy, for over 15 years. Nancy had quite a void to fill after he retired and expected her to do all of the "Shirley" work!)

Husband Mark is so proud of Shirley as he watches her welcome the guests.

Daughter Courtney is as beautiful as her mother. Her husband is doing his Residency in Internal Medicine in Atlanta. We all hope that they will settle back in Texas.

Daughter Whitney gives her dad a big hug. Her smile keeps everyone upbeat.

What a special family...

She has hardly changed a bit in 27 years. She's beautiful on the inside as well as on the outside. Best wishes on your retirement, Shirley.

It was such fun seeing Carol and Dick Weatherall while we were in Beaumont for the party.

Four generations of great ladies at Greatwood (Sugar Land, Texas): Great-grandmother Sybil Jones, Grandmother Marty Watson, Mother Amy Duhan and Brooke Duhan on her 1st birthday.

"Aunt" Carol and Shirley come for a visit. We ate at Snoopys and saw the sights. We're looking forward to their next visit.

We evacuated from Hurricane Rita to Dallas and spent the night with Jennifer and Andrew. Elizabeth and family did too. What fun to get together. Left to right are Shawn Teeling and Robert, Jennifer Baker and Katy, Andy, Joe, John, Nancy, Patrick, Phil Teeling, Wyatt Baker holding Baxter, Jay and Elizabeth.

Our granddaughter, Wendi. She lives in Saratoga, New York.

Wendi with boyfriend, Matt Spence.
