Christmas

We did not put up a tree this year, but this is Elizabeth's beautiful tree.

We began the Christmas celebration with our annual family Christmas Party on the 23rd. Daughter Elizabeth, Nancy, grandson Patrick and son Tom

Jay's sister-in-law Dee, granddaughter Shawna, great-granddaughter Kathryn and great-grandson Kristopher

We are so thrilled to see grandson Andy, who is home for a month from New York City, and grandson Patrick, who is home from a fall semester in Italy with the UT Architect program.

Chelsea and Tim (on the right) make it in from San Antonio just in time to eat. Andy is in the middle. Joe had to work and didn't get in until Christmas Eve.

Jay's brother Timmy is living in Rockport now and we love having him and Dee as part of our family.

Kristopher loved his racing car so much that he fell asleep on the couch at home with the car, a Christmas gift from us.

We open our presents on both Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at Elizabeth and Jay's. Jay gave John this sign to remind him of his old days with Mobil Oil.

Elizabeth and Jay get "x-rated" books from Joe, who got all of these gag gifts from a bachelor's party for a friend. But I love the picture of our daughter and son-in-law.

Jay gave Elizabeth this painting for Christmas. Left to right are oldest grandson Tim, Elizabeth, youngest grandson Patrick, #3 grandson Joe and #2 grandson Andy.

Joe receives rare phonograph records, his favorite hobby. Nancy records all her pictures on her iPad.

We then go up to the lake for a week over New Years. Cousins Deb and Steve come down from Round Rock. This is the only beautiful day and we take a pontoon ride on the full lake. Here is Deb and Elizabeth. We also have 6 dogs! 3 of Tim and Chelsea's and 3 of Elizabeth and Jay's. (Joe's dog Schnitzel has now become a family member, because between his job as a Geologist in San Antonio and getting his master's degree at UTSA, Joe doesn't have the time to keep the dog alone in the apartment.)

Captain John drives us around. Jay couldn't be around much because he was drilling a well and getting year end business tended to.
