Texas A & M

We eat at Wings 'n More on Friday Night. Here are our 4 grandsons. They are sooo great! Left to right are Andy, a high school junior, Joe, a high school freshman Tim, a sophmore at A & M and Patrick, a 7th grader .
Joe waits with Jay and Elizabeth.

Here we are, decked out in our maroon.

Todd will be Tim's roommate next fall.

We went to the midnight yell practice. Aggies bend over to give the yells.

The band plays "The Spirit of Aggieland" and we all stand at attention.

Reveille, the mascot, is on the field.
At noon on Saturday, Tim and his two roommates, Nick and Henry, host a "tailgate" party. The boys had cooked sausage, fajita meat, and 2 different kinds of brisket. Moms and friends added all of the trimmings. What a treat! We enjoyed it so much that we repeated it for supper.

Patrick models his "Maroon Out" shirt
.
Andy visits with Nick and Storie and 2 of her friends. Nick and Storie both graduate in May and marry on May 28th.

Henry chats with his girlfriend and her parents.

Joe plays Tim's electic guitar.

He also tries out Tim's new computer. Note the 19" LCD screen.

Tim built Patrick this computer. It's "awesome!" Patrick got this for his birthday gift by paying for 1/2 of it. The CPU case is glass on one side so you can see the components.

John visits with Melanie Wann. The Wanns, Nick's parents, have moved to Waco.

Elizabeth visits with Jim Wann, Nick's dad.

Tim and Jay pose for the camera.

It's then on to the big game. The skies are cloudy and it's cold, but the predicted rain doesn't fall. We stand and sing "The Star Spangled Banner" and "Texas, Our Texas".

We got seats in the bleacher end zone. It was a different angle to watch the game, but we got some really good views of players - especially when they scored at our end. Tim dropped us off and then went and parked the car. It took him one hour to get back to us because of the distance and the crowds. The stands were packed with over 82,000 people.

Here are the five yell leaders before the game starts.

Some senior Corp students visit while the players warm up.

The Corps of Cadets line up for the football team to enter the stadium.

This picture before the game shows "Welcome to Aggieland, Home of the 12th Man". The 12th man refers to the fans, both students and supporters, and is an A & M tradition. It began many years ago when A & M had lots of injuries in a game and a student came out of the stands, suited up for the game, sat on the bench and was ready in case he was needed to go into the game. The students still stand up the entire game, showing that they are ready to go into the game if needed. The tremendous spirit at A & M games makes such a difference in home games, that this support often helps them win.

Even John, class of '54, is ready to go into the game. Well... in his heart anyway.

Elizabeth, class of '79 and Tim, class of '07 are also ready.

The Fighting Texas Aggie Band lines up for the halftime program. Although the Aggies are behind Texas Tech 7 to 6 at halftime, we always win the halftime program! But ...

A & M beat Texas Tech 32 to 25 in overtime. What a game! Gig 'em!
