Our 50th Wedding Anniversary

Our children had a party for us at Macaroni Grill.  We wanted just the family and it was great.  Not all could be there, but we enjoyed those that could.

The cake was as good as it looked.

Our son, Tom, and daughter-in-law, Nancy                               Our daughter, Elizabeth

Left to right around the table are Shawna, Kathryn, Nancy B., Tom, John, Nancy, Elizabeth, Andy, Joe, Patrick.

We continued our celebration with a trip to San Antonio, where we stayed at the Hyatt on the Riverwalk.

We saw the IMAX movie about the Alamo and then we saw the real thing.  Our hotel room had a great view of the Alamo.

We went to the market one day and ate lunch at La Margarita.  The Mexican food is always good there and it's fun to watch the people go by.

Our cultural activity was visiting the McNay museum, housed in this lovely home.

We dressed up to eat at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.  Nancy even had a new dress for the occasion.  Nancy had the best filet that she'd ever eaten and John said ditto for the prime rib.

We loved going to SeaWorld.  The ski show is always fun.

Seeing Shamu, featuring killer whales, was the best show of them all.  (AND, we saw all of them!)

We celebrated our last night by eating at our favorite Mexican place on the river, Casa Rio.  Nancy even ate there as a child - a few years ago!  The mariachis played an anniversary song for us.

On our way home, we went down Mission Trail and stopped here at the Mission San Jose', built in 1768.  We also saw the Mission San Juan and Espada.
