Tim and Chelsea Marry

October 4, 2008

The day was beautiful as they married beside the Frio River, under the mammoth Cypress tree.  Chelsea made her jewelry, which complements the wedding color of peacock blue.

Jay and Elizabeth McGovern, the groom's parents walk down the aisle.

Woody and Sharon Simmons - the bride's parents

Joseph Halverson and Ryla Simmons               Steve Irizarry and Monica Simmons

Taylor Gray and Elana Simmons - Best Man Nick Wann and Maid of Honor Savannah Rodriguez

Ring Bearer and Flower Girl are Chelsea's cousins

The wedding site is just beautiful.  Serving tables are being set up next to a large tent, which was used for all meals.

Here is the Frio River.

Jay is relaxing by the river.

Patrick blackens fish, which is served at the Rehearsal Dinner.

Tim is sitting on the golf cart, which was supposedly used to haul people who couldn't walk very well.  Papa (John) was supposed to be in charge of the cart, but the youngsters commandeered it.

Deb, who was in charge of decorations, has her sister and mom give her a hand.  The decorations were beautiful, with the table center pieces, the cake table, the guest sign in table cloth, the wildflower seed packets (as guest favors), etc.

Tim set up all of the sound systems.

Woody practices his guitar.  He played and sang at the wedding.

Chelsea is dressed for a swim.  She DOES take off her boots then.

Sharon gets her sister-in-law  Deb and sister Georgeanne to help decorate the cake table.

Sisters in peacock blue - dressed for the wedding dinner.

The Honeymoon cottage with Snoopy and Perdita out front.

Joe is in charge of the sound system and music.

Nanny (Nancy) is standing in front of the pretty cliff.  Some people climbed to the top.

Elizabeth stirs her gumbo, which is served at the Rehearsal Dinner.

Tim and Chelsea welcome people attending.  Jay and Elizabeth and Stori and Nick are seen watching.

Jay and Elizabeth are pretty proud!!

Chelsea and Tim do some fancy dancing after the Rehearsal Dinner.  Joseph and his date showed people how to do the Texas two-step and other dances.  Most of us got out there - including the dogs!

The cake table is reset for the wedding cakes, which are served at dinner.

The draped cloth is signed by the guests with the colored pens so Chelsea and Tim can use the table cloth and have a reminder of their wonderful wedding.  The seed packet favors are in the 2 baskets.

This is the luncheon centerpiece designed and made by Deb.

Elizabeth and Jay are dressed for the wedding.

Jay's brother, Geoffrey, and his wife Meg come from Mobile.  Goeff was Jay's Best Man at their wedding.

Jay's sister Mary Sue and her friend Ron

Susan Harris Cooper attends with her family: husband George, sons Sam and Matthew.  The wedding really brings back memories since Susan was the Maid of Honor at Elizabeth and Jay's wedding, which was held outside on the cliff overlooking Toledo Bend Lake.

Andy brings his friend Rose.

Woody brings Chelsea down the aisle.

Chelsea's brother Mason performs the ceremony.

Chelsea and Tim light the Unity Candle.

Chelsea asked her grandmother and me to give her something to wear at her wedding.  Her grandmother gave her a bridal handkerchief that she had used at her wedding and I gave her this diamond, filigree pin that had belonged to my grandmother.  Chelsea used it to hold her veil in place.  I was so thrilled.

We stayed in the cabin on the left  of this duplex with Tom and Nancy.  It was comfortable, well appointed and relaxing.

The Wedding Dinner commences.  Chelsea and Tim thank everyone for coming and the toasts begin.  Chelsea's beautiful dress was made by her mother (and there is a matching garter!).

Tim dances with Elizabeth.

Chelsea watches the dancing.

We're dressed to go home.  Here are Tom, Nancy, Austin, Edie, Bup (Phil), Nancy and John.
